Automating order fulfillment across marketplaces and an ERP
A manufacturer selling through multiple marketplaces had every order handled by hand — check the marketplace, key it into the ERP, print labels, confirm shipment days later. We built the pipeline that closes that loop automatically. The same pattern works just as well on NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, Odoo, or whatever's already running.
The problem
This is one of the most common gaps we see: a business sells through more than one marketplace, with an ERP as the system of record, and nothing between them talks automatically. A person checks each marketplace, keys the order into the ERP by hand, prints a shipping label, and manually confirms the shipment back days later. Inventory gets kept in sync by hand across channels — a recipe for overselling.
What we built
An automated pipeline that closes the loop end to end, triggered on a schedule:
- Order in. New orders are pulled from each marketplace, matched against the product catalog, and turned into a sales order in the ERP — with shipping documents generated and sent to the warehouse automatically.
- Shipment out. Once the warehouse fulfills the order in the ERP, the pipeline detects it and confirms the shipment back to the marketplace — no manual status update, ever.
- Inventory sync. The same architecture keeps stock levels current across every channel, with automatic reordering when stock runs low.
- Credentials and configuration live in one place, so adding a new marketplace or swapping the ERP doesn't mean rewriting the pipeline.
Caught before it shipped
Testing surfaced a real defect while onboarding a second marketplace: a validation check was too loose and would have let the wrong product image slip onto a live listing. We tightened the check, added regression tests, and confirmed the fix against a sandbox before it ever touched a real listing — the kind of mistake that reaches a customer if nobody's testing for it.
The result
Order fulfillment now runs continuously with no manual data entry, and the same architecture is what let the second marketplace get onboarded in a fraction of the time the first one took. Same approach, regardless of which marketplaces or which ERP is on the other end.
Marketplace orders still going through a spreadsheet?
We build the integration between systems that were never meant to talk to each other — order automation, inventory sync, and the monitoring that tells you when something breaks.
